Sigma Profile Deflection Calculator
See how far a beam built from aluminium sigma profiles (T-slot extrusions) will sag under load — before you cut the first bar. Pick a profile, place the supports and define the loads; the deflection curve, moment and shear diagrams, support reactions and limit checks update instantly.
Works offline, collects no data · 55 profiles · 50 interface languages · Windows 10 and 11
Know the deflection before you cut the profile
The beam is divided into about 800 Hermite beam elements, with a node at every support and load point, and solved with the direct stiffness method (Euler–Bernoulli beam theory). For point loads and linearly distributed loads the result is theoretically exact — not a handbook formula fitted to one case.
Profile catalogue
- 55 aluminium sigma profiles from the Doğuş Kalıp catalogue (6, 8 and 10 mm slots).
- Upright or flat mounting; section properties and weight per metre built in.
- For another manufacturer, enter your own values as a "Custom profile".
Supports and loads
- Multi-span, cantilever, fixed and pinned support layouts with ready-made presets.
- Point, uniformly distributed and trapezoidal loads (kg or N) plus the profile's own weight.
- Drag supports and loads along the beam and watch the deflection follow.
Checks
- Deflection limit as span/n or in mm; every span and cantilever colour-coded.
- Bending stress compared with the alloy's yield strength and your safety factor.
- Support reactions with equilibrium check and fixed-end moments.
Comparison and drawings
- The same loads applied to all 55 profiles: the lightest one within the limits, one click to switch.
- Dimensioned cross-section drawings vectorised from the manufacturer's own drawings.
- 50 interface languages; fully offline, no data collected.

Frequently asked questions
Which profiles are included?
55 aluminium sigma profiles from the Doğuş Kalıp catalogue (6063 T5; 6, 8 and 10 mm slot series). Section properties and cross-section drawings come from the manufacturer's product drawings. For another manufacturer's profile, choose "Custom profile" and enter your own catalogue values.
How reliable are the results?
The beam is solved with about 800 Hermite elements using the direct stiffness method (Euler–Bernoulli). For point and linearly distributed loads the result is theoretically exact. The app is meant for preliminary sizing: connection stiffness, dynamic loads, vibration and assembly tolerances must be assessed separately.
Does it need the internet or collect data?
No. The app works fully offline; your entries are stored only on your own computer and no data is collected.
Which languages are available?
The interface is available in 50 languages, including right-to-left layout for Arabic, Persian, Hebrew and Urdu.
